Facebook Cookies
SocialSgnl uses your Facebook session cookies to access group posts and post comments on your behalf. This guide explains how to set them up and keep them working.
Why cookies?
Facebook doesn't provide API access to group posts for most applications. To read and interact with group content, SocialSgnl uses browser automation with your session cookies — the same way your browser accesses Facebook when you're logged in.
This means you need to export your cookies from a logged-in Facebook session and import them into SocialSgnl.
How to export your cookies
Install Cookie Editor
Install the Cookie Editorbrowser extension. It's available for Chrome, Firefox, and Edge.
Log into Facebook
Make sure you're fully logged in to Facebook in the same browser. Navigate to facebook.com and verify you can see your feed.
Export cookies
Click the Cookie Editor icon in your browser toolbar. Click the Export button (usually a download icon) and select JSON format. This copies all Facebook cookies to your clipboard.
Import into SocialSgnl
In your SocialSgnl dashboard, go to Brand → Facebook Account section. Click Import Cookies, paste the JSON, and save.
How we keep your cookies safe
Encrypted storage
Your cookies are encrypted before they're stored. They live in a secure database vault and are never stored in plain text.
Per-brand isolation
Each brand has its own cookie set. If you manage multiple brands with different Facebook accounts, each one is stored separately.
Automatic refresh
After each automation run, SocialSgnl saves the refreshed cookies back. This extends their life and reduces how often you need to re-import.
Cookie expiration
Facebook session cookies typically last about 30 days, though Facebook can revoke them earlier. SocialSgnl tracks your cookie expiration and will warn you when they're about to expire.
When to re-import
You'll see a warning banner at the top of your dashboard when cookies are expiring soon. When they expire, simply repeat the export/import process — it takes under a minute.

Troubleshooting
"Cookies expired" error
Re-export your cookies from Facebook and import them again. Make sure you're logged into Facebook when exporting.
"Login required" error
Facebook has invalidated your session. This can happen if you change your password, log out on all devices, or Facebook detects unusual activity. Re-import fresh cookies.
"Checkpoint required" error
Facebook is asking for identity verification (e.g., 2FA or security check). Log into Facebook in your browser, complete the verification, then re-export your cookies.
Cookies seem valid but automation fails
Make sure you exported cookies while on facebook.com (not a subdomain). Also ensure you're using the JSON export format, not the header string format.
A note on account safety
We recommend using a dedicated Facebook account for automation rather than your personal account. While SocialSgnl includes rate limiting and human-like behavior to minimize detection risk, any automation tool carries some inherent risk. Using a separate account protects your main profile.
