Automation

The automation engine is the heart of SocialSgnl. It scrapes posts from your groups, analyzes them with AI, generates comments, and can even post them automatically. Here's how to use it.

How it works

When you run a full automation, SocialSgnl executes four steps in order:

1

Scrape

Visits each of your active groups and extracts recent posts — author, content, media, and reactions.

2

Analyze

AI reads each post and scores it for relevance to your brand (0-100). Irrelevant posts are skipped, saving your AI quota.

3

Generate

For relevant posts, AI generates a contextual comment that matches your brand voice. Each comment gets a confidence score.

4

Post

Approved comments are posted to Facebook with human-like typing and delays. This step only runs if auto-posting is enabled.

Running automation

From the main Automation page, you can run the full pipeline or individual steps:

  • Full Automation — runs all 4 steps end-to-end
  • Scrape Only — just collect posts without analyzing
  • Process Posts — analyze and generate comments for existing unprocessed posts
  • Post Comments — post all approved comments to Facebook

You can pause, resume, or stop automation at any time. Progress is tracked in real time and displayed on screen.

Automation settings

Fine-tune automation behavior from the settings panel on the Automation page:

Relevance threshold

Posts scoring below this number (0-100) won't get comments. Default: 50. Lower it to comment on more posts; raise it to be more selective.

Auto-approval threshold

Comments with a confidence score at or above this number are automatically approved — no manual review needed. Default: 80. Set to 100 to review everything manually.

Auto-posting

When enabled, approved comments are posted to Facebook automatically during the automation run. When disabled, comments go into the moderation queue for you to post manually. Default: off.

Max posts per group

How many posts to scrape from each group per run. Default: 10. Useful for controlling volume and AI quota usage.

Scheduled automation

Instead of running automation manually each time, you can schedule it to run on a recurring interval. When enabled, SocialSgnl will automatically run the full pipeline at your chosen frequency.

Scheduled automation runs in the background — you don't need to have the dashboard open.

Minimum intervals

PlanMinimum interval
FreeEvery 60 minutes
ProEvery 15 minutes
BusinessEvery 5 minutes

Automation status

The automation panel shows real-time status as it runs:

Stopped — no automation running
Running — automation in progress, showing live counts
Paused — temporarily halted, can be resumed
Error — something went wrong (check the error details)

After a run completes, you'll see a summary of how many posts were scraped, analyzed, and how many comments were generated.

Tips

  • Start with a test run. Run on just 1-2 groups first to see how the AI responds. Adjust your brand profile and thresholds before going wide.
  • Keep auto-posting off initially. Review AI comments manually until you're confident in the quality. Then enable auto-posting for high-confidence comments.
  • Watch your AI quota. Each post analyzed uses one AI request. Adjust max posts per group and relevance threshold to balance coverage with quota usage.
